After much thought, I've made the decision to close the studio and shop in Standish Street, Keswick at the end of August and move to a new studio. The Standish Street shop will continue as a pottery, so keep an eye out for future updates and exciting new developments.
Until then, Michelle Best Ceramics will remain open as my working studio and retail shop, but I won't be running any more classes.
From September, I will be opening up my online shop periodically and attending Potfest in the Pens on 23/24/25 October at the Auction Mart in Penrith.
I want to say a huge thank you to everyone who has attended a class, supported my business, and been part of this wonderful community over the years.
I am a ceramicist based in Keswick, Lake District. While living the Netherlands, I learnt wheel thrown ceramics and the European minimalist style is reflected in my functional ware and vases. Using three different types of stoneware clay and making my own glazes gives a unique contemporary feel to my pottery.
